Valentine’s Day Releases See Big Monday Dip

The Valentine Day 2026 releases were not that great and not much is happening with them in theaters as they have run into reality check mode as Monday collections witnessed a noticeable dip across the areas of release.

First in line is Arjun Sarja’s Seetha Payanam. The film opened to poor occupancy on day one itself. With barely any pre-release buzz and no encouraging word of mouth, the film got washed out almost immediately. Trade circles say the lack of promotional push and weak initial talk sealed its fate quickly.

On the other hand, Vishwak Sen’s Funky had a slightly better start thanks to good pre-release hype and strong buzz before launch. The openings were decent, but the momentum didn’t sustain. Weekend growth remained limited and Monday saw a sharp fall with estimated collections to be under a crore.

With the team slowing down promotions post-release, the film now looks headed towards a disappointing run. This could be a setback for Vishwak, Anudeep, and producer Naga Vamsi, who had pinned good hopes on the project.

On the brighter side, Couple Friendly is holding okay but not that great. Though the film received positive reviews and encouraging audience feedback, the weekend numbers weren’t explosive due to the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match.

However, it is managing respectable collections and needs to stay stable through the weekdays. If it holds until the coming weekend, it may still turn into a profitable venture. Notably, Santosh and Manasa are continuing active promotions, which is a smart move that could help the film sustain in the days to come.
