Promotions for Gaayapadda Simham, starring Tharun Bhascker and directed by first-timer Kasyap Sreenivas, are in full swing. After the traiser created strong curiosity, the team has now released a lively promotional track.
The song cleverly highlights the protagonist’s dilemma following deportation drive in the USA. With his life suddenly thrown into turmoil, the character finds himself caught in a series of comically frustrating situations.
Music composer Sweekar Agasthi has crafted the track as a rap-driven number with modern beats, besides lending vocals, along with rapper Asura. Sweekar and Asura penned lyrics and rap portions, respectively. They also make an appearance in the video along with Tharun Bhascker and Vishnu Oi, giving the presentation a casual and spirited vibe.
The video embraces humour throughout, combining fun choreography with witty visuals. It prominently features imagery of Donald Trump on television screens and as a large statue. This is paired with themes of rejection, such as a rejected stamp on an Indian passport and a Happy Deportation cake.
Tharun Bhascker’s performance thrives on subtle humour, with his serious expressions amplifying the comedy of his predicament. The song certainly delivers satirical punch, appealing largely to the GenZ audiences.
Backed by Saptaswa Media Works, POV Stories, and Zee Studios, and presented by Pavan Sadineni, Gaayapadda Simham is aiming for a summer theatrical release.
