Casting Couch is one of most debatable topics which often comes up for discussion among the insiders of the movie industry and also in the common public. Several controversies erupted in the past due to this immoral topic as numerous allegations were made by actresses in various film industries. Even Tollywood is also not immune to this unacceptable culture.
A fresh debate has been triggered on Casting Couch again as a Telugu influencer made serious allegations after going through a bitter experience in pursuit of finding a career as an artist in Tollywood. The video is currently going viral all over because of the seriousness of the allegations made by her.
An NRI Telugu girl from Newyork with Instagram username ‘Piku Nemali’ has recently posted a video in which she narrated her ordeal after approaching a known person who sought sexual favours on behalf of a notable producer from Telugu film industry.
In the video, the girl stated that she came across an assistant director through some of her contacts and later sent her portfolio with photos which led to a phone conversation in which she expressed her full commitment to the profession. She then alleged that the person later called and invited her to a resort in India to meet the producer.
The influencer stated that she simply blocked the person after knowing about his real intentions and the purpose of the invitation to the resort. She lamented that so many talented and beautiful Telugu girls are afraid to act in Tollywood due to his bad culture.
While the video gained huge traction with hundreds of comments and reposts, popular Tollywood artist Anchor Jhansi immediately approached the girl to formally lodge a complaint with the Sexual Harassment Redressal Panel of Telugu film industry for further inquiry into the allegations.
Jhansi sent a message to the influencer and assured that the Women’s Committee would take a serious note of the experience she faced in search of opportunities. Jhansi is a member of the panel and thd support group for women in Tollywood. Her quick reaction is being widely appreciated by social media users.
What remains to be seen is whether those behind these allegations will be publicly named or not and whether any strict action would be initiated or not.
