Charan’s Brutal Makeover: ‘Peddi Training or National Games?’

Ram Charan’s long awaited rural entertainer ‘Peddi’ is likely to face another delay in its release date due to the prolonged shooting schedules. Yet, the hype keeps increasing with each passing day due to the strong inside reports on the output. Moreover, the teasers and posters have already augmented the buzz to such a level that the openings will be huge no matter when the film hits the screens.

While Ram Charan’s awe-inspiring transformation for this film is one of the major talking points, another intriguing aspect that played a significant role in building the hype is the narrative set in the backdrop of multiple sports like Cricket and Kusthi. The two teasers dropped enough hints that the story will be revolving around these games with drama and emotions connected to village politics.

Besides training like a beast to attain a brawny physique, Charan is said to have went all-out to gain perfection in Kusthi game. He has reportedly trained for nearly 4-5 months for Akhada game under the supervision of popular national coach who previously worked for Bollywood films like Dangal and Sultan.

In his recent interview for a leading magazine, Charan opened up about his extremely tough and gruelling sessions with the coach for this game and recalled how he felt like preparing for national games during the intense preparation for the film. His dedication and commitment towards the game are clearly evident from the recently unveiled teaser which presented a brief glimpse into his amazing ‘Kusthi’ moves which appeared very organic and natural.

Given that Charan took such an extensive training, it seems like Kusthi has so much weight in the script and the scenes involving the game might turn out to be a major highlight for the film. Initially, it was believed that Cricket might be the driving factor for Peddi. But, the Pehlwan glimpse proved that the film is not just about Cricket but has more of Kusthi as well.

What is more appreciable is that Charan is giving his everything and leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the action episodes in Peddi turn out to be authentic without the use of VFX effects.
