Charming Star Sharwa, known for his easy charisma, takes on a completely rugged role in Bhogi, directed by Sampath Nandi. The first-look poster and the birthday special poster have already grabbed attention. Today, the team introduced Anupama Parameswaran’s character as Kandula Sulochana Rani.
Anupama’s first-look design embraces realism. She appears as a village belle, carrying a woven basket filled with Moduga leaves on her head. She holds another bunch of leaves in one hand and a lunch box in the other, dressed in a simple half-saree. The poster places her against a rustic rural backdrop of mud houses and cattle, capturing a raw slice of life.
Sulochana’s world is simple yet demanding. Her livelihood depends on crafting plates from forest leaves, and the quiet determination on her face hints at a woman who shoulders far more than her daily chores. Anupama has invested deeply in mastering the dialect and behavioural nuances to ensure the character reflects the ruggedness and authenticity of the film’s setting.
The production team is gearing up for the next schedule in Hyderabad, planned for the first week of May. Dimple Hayathi plays the other female lead in this film set in the early 1960s along the Telangana–Maharashtra border.
Backed by KK Radhamohan and presented by Lakshmi Radhamohan under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner, the project is slated for a pan-India theatrical release on August 28th, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan.
