Reshuffling of big releases often puts small and medium budget films in a tricky situation as they will need to quickly scramble for new dates without much competition. This not an easy exercise because finding an ideal slot during busy seasons is very difficult. Satya Dev’s physiological drama Rao Bahadur has now landed in a similar situation.
As Ram Charan’s much awaited rural drama Peddi locked June 4 as the release date, other films which initially planned to hit the screens during this period will now face a big dilemma. Rao Bahadur is one among those films which locked June 5 well in advance because it was a vacant slot with no prominent releases.
While the makers of Rao Bahadur are getting ready to kick start their promotional campaign, the unexpected change in the release date of Peddi has come as a big shock. With Peddi carrying massive hype and is likely to secure majority of the screens in the first week, it would be a risky attempt for other films to compete with it.
So, Rao Bahadur will need to find a new date. The film has been making good waves since the day it was announced due to the intriguing concept and promising teasers. Going by the current scenario, it is going to be a safe bet if the film opts for release in the last week of June. The team might take a call very soon and announce the fresh date.
Directed by Venkatesh Maha, the film is a joint collaboration of Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment and Sri Chakraa Entertainments, A+S Movies, and Mahayana Motion Pictures. It also features Deepa Thomas, Vikas Muppala, Bala Parasar, Anand Bharathi, Pranay Vaka, Kunal Kaushik, and Master Kiran in important roles.
