After making an impressive debut with Mem Famous, Sumanth Prabhas is now set to entertain audiences with the rural drama Godari Gattupaina, directed by Subhash Chandra under Red Puppet Productions. As the film gears up for its release on May 8th, the team has begun aggressive promotions.
Sumanth says it almost feels like a second debut since Godari Gattupaina is arriving three years after his first film. He adds that this movie is completely different from his debut.
“Mem Famous was a youth-centric Telangana village story. Godari Gattupaina is a super cute film set against the Godavari backdrop. It carries strong emotions. The love track and the father–daughter sentiment will resonate with everyone.”
The actor revealed the effort he put into mastering the Godavari slang. “I was born and brought up in Telangana. So, I rehearsed for nearly four months to perfect the Godavari dialect. I wanted people from that region to feel like someone from their own area is speaking.”
Sumanth plays an auto driver in the film. “My character values friends and family. It’s a very good role. There’s also an auto race episode, and I trained hard specifically for it. The film has fun and emotions, and every character is beautifully written.”
He clarified that he didn’t involve himself in the making of the film despite having directorial experience. “Subhash Chandra worked very hard on this script. He wanted to present it in his own style. The moment I heard the story, I surrendered completely. I only told him to leave the promotions to me.”
Sumanth also revealed that he personally designed the promotional strategy for the film.
