Tom Cruise is making headlines today as he reportedly signed a new film titled Doppelganger. The international media is circulating the news now as the actor closed a major chapter with Mission: Impossible earlier. The project in the discussions now will reportedly be helmed by a Telugu director Aneesh Chaganty.
Aneesh made his feature film directorial debut with the 2018 thriller Searching. Aneesh was born into a Telugu family, whose parents originally emigrated from Andhra Pradesh in 1980. His film Missing was also widely appreciated by the audiences across the world.
Doppleganger is another spy thriller which is expected to bring back the vintage Tom doing what he is always comfortable on the screen. Tom Cruise started off working in spy thrillers and was a part of all franchises of Mission: Impossible along with the latest one, The Final Reckoning.
In the film, Tom will reportedly play a dual role. The actor would reportedly play Veer, a CIA agent whose life changes when he learns that Russia has recruited a man who looks exactly like him. The plan is to use the lookalike as a mole. Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian, Aneesh and Natalie Qasabian are producing the film, Doppleganger.
On the other hand, Tom will appear in Digger later this year, though that project is not in the spy genre.
