Lokesh May Lose Focus On Direction By Chasing Acting?

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj was once regarded as one of the most exciting filmmakers in South Indian cinema. After delivering blockbuster films like Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo, he became a fan favorite not only in Kollywood but across the entire South Indian film industry.

His unique storytelling style, gripping screenplays, and successful cinematic universe earned him immense respect and popularity. However, things appear to have changed after Coolie.

The film failed to meet the massive expectations surrounding it and was viewed as a disappointment by many fans. Instead of immediately moving ahead with the highly anticipated Kaithi 2, Lokesh shifted his attention toward acting projects, including his role in DC.

He also made a cameo appearance in Kattalan and is reportedly being considered for a full-fledged villain role in its sequel. There is no doubt that Lokesh is a talented director, and his contributions to Tamil cinema remain significant.

However, taking up back-to-back acting assignments could affect his primary strength as a filmmaker. Fans worry that his focus on direction may gradually weaken if acting commitments continue to increase.

Meanwhile, Kaithi 2 appears uncertain, with reports suggesting that things are not progressing smoothly between the concerned parties.

As a result, Lokesh’s upcoming project with Allu Arjun, expected to begin next year, has become the biggest hope for both the director and his fans. His acting ventures should not come at the cost of his directorial brilliance.
