‘A Classic Style With Modern Feel’

Nag Ashwin believes his production venture Sing Geetham is not just another film, but a rare creation that audiences will cherish for years to come. Backed by prestigious banners Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema, the film marks the most ambitious project of legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao.

Speaking about the film, Nag Ashwin revealed that the idea had been with Singeetham for decades. In fact, the director had narrated the story to Kamal Haasan even before Pushpaka Vimana was made. However, various commitments prevented the project from materializing until now.

Nag Ashwin said that the timeless quality seen in classics like Pushpaka Vimana, Aditya 369, and Bhairava Dweepam is also present in Sing Geetham. Though conceived many years ago, the story feels remarkably contemporary and relevant to today’s audiences.

Calling the project an unforgettable journey, Nag Ashwin said working alongside the 94-year-old legend for nearly two years was a privilege beyond words. He believes Sing Geetham is not a film audiences will forget after a week. “We made this movie with the intention of creating something that audiences would remember even a decade later,” he said.

The producer explained that casting newcomers was entirely Singeetham’s decision. “This story unfolds in a very unique world. If established stars were cast, their screen image could influence the audience’s perception. With new faces, viewers can immerse themselves more naturally in the world of the film.”

Set in the fictional land of Kuberapuram, the story revolves around mysterious gold mines. “It is a fictional tale set in a place called Kuberapuram, where gold mines play an important role. The connection between the town and the mines is presented in Singeetham’s trademark style, filled with humor and humanity,” he explained.

Nag Ashwin also confirmed that work on Kalki 2 is progressing. “We are planning to begin continuous shooting from next month and complete the film at a rapid pace,” he said.
