There was a time during 2023 when many in the film industry and moviegoers thought that Samantha might give up on her career due to health issues and also because she was going through an emotional burden following her marital discord. Moreover, her films like Yashoda and Shaakuntalam failed at the box office during that period.
Cut to 2026, Samantha made an inspiring comeback as her latest outing ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ set the cash registers ringing despite having no holiday and festival advantage at the box office. The female centric film turned out be a huge commercial success for all parties involved and proved that Samantha’s charisma is still intact.
Samantha is so elated and also emotional with the response and her happiness is evident at the post release promotional events. At the center of this powerful personal and professional revival stands her husband and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, who supported her through this tough period.
Speaking during the success meet, Raj revealed how he convinced Samantha to do one last film in Telugu when she actually decided to quit her acting profession. Samantha expressed her profound gratitude to Raj for playing an instrumental role in her comeback.
Raj actually wrote the story and co-produced Maa Inti Bangaaram under their banner, Tralala Moving Pictures. He openly revealed that the film’s protagonist, Swarna, was directly inspired by Samantha’s real-life strength. He didn’t just help revive Samantha’s career but also redefine it.
Directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy, Maa Inti Bangaaram grossed over ₹50 crore worldwide within its opening days and registered the biggest solo opening of Samantha’s career.
