Saaho heroine Shraddha Kapoor is finally returning with a most hyped content driven film after scoring a massive blockbuster with Stree 2. Her next release Eetha is arriving on August 28 under the direction of Laxman Utekar. But even before the promotions begin, the movie has landed in an unexpected controversy.
Eetha is inspired by the life of legendary Marathi folk artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. She was celebrated as the queen of Tamasha and ruled the stage for decades. One unforgettable incident from her life was delivering a baby backstage after performing while heavily pregnant.
Laxman Utekar reportedly spent years researching Vithabai’s remarkable journey before making the film. The teaser has already generated curiosity.
However, Vithabai’s family is unhappy with the title Eetha. They believe the film should have carried her name instead of a fictional title. The family is even considering legal action against the makers over the issue.
So far the production team has remained silent. The film will release in multiple languages including Telugu. Along with Shraddha Kapoor, Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub play key roles while Ajay Atul have composed the music.
