Director Sudha Kongara has taken legal action against the makers of Parasakthi, creating fresh uncertainty around one of Tamil cinema’s most talked about projects. According to reports, the acclaimed filmmaker has approached the Madras High Court alleging that a remuneration amount of ₹8.39 crore remains unpaid.
The matter has now reached the legal stage, with Sudha Kongara seeking directions regarding the pending payment. The development has caught the attention of the film industry, especially since Parasakthi had some big names like Sivakarthikeyan and Sreeleela playing leads.
During the hearing, the court reportedly indicated that the satellite release of the film should not proceed until July 8, when the matter is expected to be reviewed further. This observation has added another layer of complexity.
In addition, the plea is said to have sought restraint on the release of Idhayam Murali, which is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 10. The legal dispute has therefore expanded beyond remuneration concerns and could potentially impact release strategies connected to the production house.
The case has quickly become a major talking point in Kollywood, with fans and trade circles closely monitoring developments. While the producers are expected to present their side before the court, the outcome of the upcoming hearing could play a crucial role in determining the immediate future of the film.
