God Of War: Tamil Negativity Crossing The Line?

One of the most prestigious projects in Indian cinema was announced last evening, as it was officially confirmed that Junior NTR would be collaborating with Trivikram for a massive action epic based on Lord Murugan.

This project has been one of the most anticipated projects for the last one year, and it is finally taking shape and form now with this collaboration.

However, immediately after the announcement of this project, a wave of Tamil negativity has struck it hardly. This is primarily regarding the statement issued by the makers where they said Murugan was born in north, and is being worshipped in South.

This immediately triggered the Tamil community as they are proudly saying that Murugan was born in Tamil land and he belongs to the Tamil community. They are taking this very personally and trying hard to project Murugan Tamil God.

At the end of the day, any god cannot be restricted to one region or language, and whatever the Tamil folk on social media are doing currently as disproportionate and uncalled for.

It is a fact that Tamil folk have the highest regard and devotion for Lord Murugan, but that does not mean they have the patent rights for this sacred Hindu god. This is an intellectual topic, and anyone has the rights to have their own conception and knowledge on this matter.

It is strange to see Tamil folk on social media react so harshly to this film and dissociating it so very just out of regional might and this isn’t a healthy sign. Rather, they must wait for the film to actually release, and then judge it based on the merit instead of claiming regional credit already.
