Naga Bandham Hero’s Daily Makeup Took Six Hours

Ahead of the release, hero Virat Karna says his next outing Nagabandham represents the most challenging journey of his life. Directed by Abhishek Nama and produced by Kishore Annapureddy and Nishitha Nagireddy under NIK Studios, the epic fantasy adventure has made exceptional pre-release business, thanks to the strong buzz the movie is carrying.

Although his debut Peddha Kapu was also mounted on a grand scale, the actor believes Nagabandham pushed him to entirely new limits. “I worked twice as hard for this film. Every ounce of my energy went into these characters,” he said.

To transform himself, he gained 20 kilograms for one phase before losing five kilograms for another. He also mastered horse riding, improved his dance skills, and committed himself to rigorous physical conditioning. The elaborate Naga Sadhu makeup itself required six hours every day.

The actor disclosed that he never relied on stunt doubles. “Not a single action sequence in the film was performed by a duplicate. I executed every stunt myself.”

During an action sequence in severe winter conditions, Virat’s body froze due to the freezing temperatures while filming with minimal costume. He was immediately shifted to Apollo Hospital’s emergency department before resuming shooting the very next day after receiving medical clearance.

He admitted feeling nervous during the early days of filming because of the gigantic sets and hundreds of junior artists working daily. However, director Abhishek Nama constantly encouraged him, reminding him to focus solely on his performance.

Confident that audiences will be impressed, he said those who watched the movie already have responded extremely positive. “The film has come out brilliantly. Every scene directed by Abhishek Nama gave me goosebumps. Viewers are going to witness a spectacular theatrical experience.”

The actor acknowledged Megastar Chiranjeevi as the biggest inspiration behind his cinematic dreams and said he hopes to continue acting in commercial entertainers packed with family emotions and action.

Virat confirmed that Nagabandham is planned as a two-part saga and revealed that he intends to maintain a steady pace by releasing two films every year.
