Is Toxic Going Overboard With Boldness?

Toxic

After delivering one of the iconic films from Kannada Cinema in the form of KGF, Yash took several years to come up with his next film and he is on the job with Toxic, which is announced for release on 26th August.

A video promo that was released to introduce the toxic ladies is heavily featuring the main female characters in the film and it has opened to a sharp contrast reaction on social media.

People have immediately been taken by surprise with the boldness quotient in the teaser. The unexpectedly hot portrayal of Kiara Advani, who is the main female lead and also other female characters in the film has gone wild.

The extremely sexualised visual presentation of several female characters could potentially invite censorship issues for the film. Particularly the final dialogue in the video teaser which uses the word “Men Coc*s” could come under intense scrutiny not just from the censor department but also the common folk.

There are already complaints that are being raised on social media for the women’s commission to look into the extreme objectification of females in this film and this could blow up as well.

So much is being stacked up against this film, even before the release, and this could pose a significant threat to the very release prospect. If the intention of the makers was to grab the attention either way by using such provocative stuff then they achieved their goal. But from the cinematic and censorship point of view, they might face multiple hurdles.
