This talented director is in the industry for all the wrong reasons. He appears less calm than his public persona suggests.
On one occasion, a set property was delayed. The production team said it would arrive by 2 PM. Any other director would shoot another scene until then but he was angry and said ‘Pack up’ for the day.
He also unexpectedly hurt the ego of a senior-most star doing a supporting role in the film. For some reason, the director said, ‘Pack up’ for the shoot but the senior-most actor was not informed. He arrived at the location and was furious that the shoot was canceled.
He decided to teach the director a lesson and skipped the shoot the next day without informing anyone until the last minute.
On another occasion, the heroine walked away because of this director. The heroine plays a radical role that requires some exposing.
The director narrated the role and script to many heroines including Jhanvi Kapoor but no one agreed because of this radical role. Finally, this heroine accepted, yet the director still has problems with her. She agreed to do skin show when signing the film.
But one day on set, the director was not satisfied with the extent of skin show for a particular scene. He asked her to remove her blouse.
There should be sensitivity when asking actresses to do such scenes but the director did not follow it. The actress felt humiliated and refused. The director said ‘Pack Up’ and walked away canceling the entire shoot for the day.
The producer remains a silent victim in the whole scenario. The budget of this promising film is increasing unchecked.
