Netflix Corrects Peddi’s Most Trolled Scene

The wait is over as Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi is now available for streaming on Netflix. The response has been good, and there is a decent reaction to Janhvi Kapoor’s role in the film after its OTT release.

Generally, OTT platforms prefer releasing uncut versions despite bold content, but in the case of Peddi, the team and Netflix made the right decision by editing Janhvi’s market scene, which had sparked significant negative buzz against the film at the time of its release.

Several media houses had called out the manner in which Janhvi Kapoor was objectified in the film, and it became troll material. However, with a few simple changes, the scene now looks much better.

Going by the response on social media, one gets the feeling that if the theatrical version had included these edits, the film’s overall reception could have been significantly better. Buchi Babu Sana had to apologize due to the pressure created by the controversy.

If all this had been addressed properly during the editing stage, the story might have been very different. But things have finally ended well for Peddi, as the response on OTT has been positive so far. Ram Charan’s performance is being praised, and the content is doing all the talking.
