The India Story Trailer: Slow Poison In Progress!

Kajal Aggarwal has kick-started her second innings and is now taking on more serious roles. Next in line is The India Story, her new Hindi film, which hits the screens on July 24, 2026, and Kajal is quite excited about this social drama.

The makers have released the trailer, and Kajal is seen in a powerful, author-backed role. Though the trailer has several issues, what catches your attention is Kajal’s transformation. From being a heroine who has done commercial films for over two decades, Kajal now plays a mother, lawyer, and social activist in this film, which is based on food adulteration.

Kajal’s transformation is good, and he looks quite impressive in a realistic role. The trailer showcases how a family is devastated by food poisoning and how the mother, played by Kajal, takes matters into her own hands and fights for justice.

Kajal delivers some powerful dialogues, and for the first time, she is seen in a highly performance-oriented role. Shreyas Talpade plays her husband, but his appearance throughout the trailer looks odd. He also seems a bit miscast in the film.

With decent production values and a socially relevant subject, the film attempts to highlight a serious issue that is rampant in today’s society. The manner in which food adulteration is carried out evokes decent interest in the proceedings.

The film sheds light on the alarming use of harmful chemicals and unsafe practices in the food industry, making the issue relatable to every household. Its attempt to create awareness while narrating a commercial story works to an extent.

Directed by Chetan DK, The India Story is a very important film for Kajal, as its success could open new avenues for her in both Hindi and Telugu cinema. Let’s see how the film fares in the days to come.
