Senior Heroes Shouldn’t Make Films Just for the Sake of It

Jagapathi Babu and Srikanth have entertained audiences for decades with classic films and memorable performances. However, their latest solo releases Vadhala and Mister Middle Class both have ended up as big flops at the box office.

Srikanth’s Mister Middle Class is based on the greed of a common man and has a fantasy element woven into the story. On the other hand, Jagapathi Babu’s Vadhala revolves around a duo of a Middle aged man and a Young woman.

If you look at the plots, both films had interesting concepts and offered enough scope for engaging storytelling. Even their promos grabbed decent attention. Sadly, neither film managed to make an impact and went unnoticed at the box office.

The biggest issue with both projects is the weak execution. What makes the disappointment even bigger is the presence of Jagapathi Babu and Srikanth. Many feel senior actors should be more selective while choosing scripts and ensure that projects they do have novelty.

Some even say that instead of signing films for money, audiences would love to see them in well-written roles that suit their age and image. Jagapathi Babu is a very popular character artist but Srikanth still continues to do these small films time and again.
