Lokesh to Promote DC in Telugu: Too Late to the Party!

DC opened last week to rave reviews and an excellent response from audiences. The hard-hitting action thriller, backed by strong content and Anirudh Ravichander’s terrific background score, has connected particularly well with Telugu audiences.

Interestingly, DC performed even stronger in the Telugu states than Tamil Nadu for a few days, which was quite unexpected. With better promotions, the film could have achieved a monstrous result, but the distribution team failed to capitalize on the momentum.

Despite being Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut, DC didn’t have promotional interviews and media interactions in Telugu. This affected the opening.

However, strong word-of-mouth helped the film attract Telugu audiences. Positive reviews and social media buzz also made a solid impact, even with limited pre-release promotions across the Telugu states

Now when the film is entering the second week, Lokesh Kanagaraj is reportedly set to visit theatres across the Telugu states today to promote the film. While his presence could give the movie a boost, it comes a little too late from the distribution team’s side.

Lokesh Kanagaraj and Anirudh Ravichander could have participated in a few Telugu promotional activities before the release. Telugu is a crucial market for Lokesh, while Anirudh also enjoys strong popularity among Telugu audiences.

Now, all eyes are on how the film grows in the coming days as this week is going to see Suriya and Venky Atluri’s Vishwanath and Sons releasing. Also last week’s Korean Kanakaraju is doing decently well in theatres. All this giving us a sense that is Lokesh Kanagaraj’s theatre visit comes too late for DC?
