Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons Kicks Off To A Good Start Overseas

The wait is over. Vishwanath & Sons, starring Suriya, hits screens worldwide today. Overseas premieres have already wrapped up with a warm reception from audiences in the USA, even as morning shows are just getting underway back home in India.

The film also marks another win for director Venky Atluri, who’s no stranger to hits, having previously helmed Tholi Prema, Sir, and Lucky Bhaskar.

Early word from the premieres points to a breezy, feel-good family drama, elevated by Venky Atluri’s writing and solid performances across the board from Suriya, Mamitha Baiju, and Radhika.

Advance bookings paint an encouraging picture. While Tamil Nadu numbers are good, the Telugu states are seeing exceptionally strong presale momentum.

Coming off the success of Karuppu/Veerabhadrudu, Suriya appears to be riding a wave of good form, and trade circles are betting on Vishwanath & Sons delivering a strong worldwide opening on Day 1.
