The makers of Spirit have finally cleared the air on some of the casting rumours around the film. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s brother and Spirit co-producer Pranay Reddy Vanga has confirmed that Don Lee will not be part of Spirit.
He revealed that the team had tried to bring Don Lee into the film, but the story did not have a suitable role for him. Pranay also clarified that Spirit is a Hyderabadi local story, and the casting has to fit the world of the film.
There have also been reports about Chiranjeevi being part of the movie. The latest clarity suggests that these names are not part of the film either.
It is good that the team has cleared these rumours well before the release. This can prevent further confusion and unnecessary expectations among the audience.
Don Lee would have been an exciting choice to face Prabhas, but Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for not changing his story just to accommodate a star. If a character does not fit the script, he appears ready to let the casting idea go.
