There is growing excitement around Megastar Chiranjeevi’s #Mega158, as director Bobby Kolli appears to be building a completely new cinematic world for the actor. Produced by Venkat K Narayana through KVN Productions, the high-voltage action entertainer is progressing rapidly, with its shoot. On Chiranjeevi’s birthday, the makers unveiled the much-awaited title glimpse.
Chiranjeevi makes entry as K Satyam, a supervisor working in the aqua industry. His character is initially presented as an ordinary middle-aged man, complete with glasses and a relaxed demeanour. He speaks to the staff, Chennai team about an upcoming load in phone, turns down Sunil’s leave request and casually deals with a situation involving scooter keys given by his daughter.
The sequence involving those keys becomes the glimpse’s first major hook. After they accidentally fall into the water, a dog comes with a remote, allowing Satyam to retrieve them through a magnet. But the object emerging from the water is far more interesting than anyone expects- guns come up along with the keys. Bobby uses this clever transition to shift the mood and unveil the title Kaaka.
Then comes the real transformation. A younger Chiranjeevi appears in a completely different avatar, radiating style and confidence. The atmosphere instantly becomes more intense, leading into a gun action sequence.
Bobby Kolli seems to be playing with two contrasting sides of Chiranjeevi’s personality here. One is rooted in simplicity and everyday charm, while the other is built around attitude, style and explosive action. This contrast gives Kaaka a personality of its own even within a brief glimpse.
The visual treatment is another major strength. Vijay Karthik Kannan keeps the opening portions immersive and character-driven, before moving towards sharper compositions and high-energy action imagery. Thaman’s score provides the required elevation without losing the mood of the visuals. The inclusion of the remix of Gang Gang from Gang Leader is an added treat for fans.
Chiranjeevi looks completely at ease in both avatars. The glasses-and-middle-class appearance brings out his natural charm, whereas the younger look allows him to unleash his trademark swagger. The body language, expressions and gun-firing sequence make it evident that Bobby has carefully designed the character to maximise the Megastar’s strengths.
Most importantly, the glimpse leaves questions rather than simply answering them. Who is K Satyam? How are the two Chiranjeevi avatars connected? And what is the significance of the guns? Bobby Kolli has used the glimpse to create precisely the kind of curiosity that can sustain interest until the next update.
Kaaka arrives worldwide on January 13, 2027, targeting the Sankranthi festive season.
