Toxic has finally received the Telangana government’s GO for enhanced ticket prices, just a day before its theatrical release. The development comes amid considerable confusion and anticipation over the film’s ticket pricing in the Nizam region.
As per the latest GO, single screen theatres can hike ticket prices by Rs 50, including GST, while multiplexes and special theatres can charge an additional Rs 100.
The enhanced prices will be applicable from August 26 to September 4, covering the first 10 days of Toxic’s theatrical run. The permission is for five regular shows per day.
The government has also directed the makers to contribute Rs 1 crore to the Telugu Film Industry Employees’ Welfare Committee account operated by the FDC. The amount will be used for the welfare of film industry workers.
Theatres have also been instructed to screen advertisements highlighting the adverse effects of narcotics, drugs and cybercrime. With the hikes now officially cleared, all eyes are on Toxic’s opening in the Nizam region.
