KVN Productions has made a rapid entry into the South Indian film industry with some of the biggest stars and ambitious projects. From Yash’s Toxic to Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, the production house managed to secure films that created massive expectations across multiple industries.
However, the journey has not gone as planned. Dhruva Sarja’s KD The Devil failed to make the expected impact at the box office, while Jana Nayagan faced a prolonged delay due to censor related issues. Despite Vijay’s strong following helping the film, it reportedly ended up as a costly affair for the producer.
Toxic was expected to change the fortunes of KVN Productions, especially after its huge pre release buzz. The film opened strongly on the first day riding on Yash’s popularity, but the negative response affected its run badly. The film eventually became another setback for the production house.
Though KVN Productions has several projects lined up across different industries, the recent results have put the spotlight on its upcoming ventures. The production house still has some major combinations in the pipeline, but expectations are now particularly high on the Chiranjeevi and Bobby collaboration.
The Chiranjeevi starrer, popularly referred to as Kaaka, is expected to arrive during the Sankranti season. The combination of Chiranjeevi and Bobby carries considerable expectations, while the Sankranti release window could also work strongly in favour of the film.
Despite having other big projects in the pipeline, Kaaka appears to have the potential to provide the biggest relief to KVN Productions at this stage. If the film clicks with the audience and delivers a strong theatrical run, it could give the production house the much needed boost after a series of setbacks.
