Very Happy August For Telugu Box Office

This August is one of the most memorable Augusts for the Telugu Box Office and buyers.

Varun Tej bagged a success with Korean Kanakaraju in the first week. The movie ended the success drought of the Mega hero and brought cheer on his face.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut film, ‘DC ’, achieved unexpected success. The movie is a massive success at the box office.

Surya achieved another success with ‘Viswanath and Sons’, released as an Independence Day special. Director Venky Atluri scored a hat-trick. Even though the movie was made in Tamil and dubbed into Telugu, it was embraced by the Telugu audience even more than the Tamil audience. It is also a big hit in Telugu.

A small film, Husharu Pittalu, released in the same week also raked in good money in B and C centers with its adult content.

Ravi Teja’s Irumudi, which released in the third week, is a sensational blockbuster and is nearing the 100 Crore Share mark worldwide. It has brought unimaginable profits for everyone involved in the trade and is expected to run at least until The Paradise release.

But then, the month’s last week resulted in a massive disappointment with the disastrous result of Toxic.  In Telugu, Dil Raju sent 75 Crore advance for both Telugu states, and it has to collect around 160 Crore Gross for break-even. The movie collected only 38 Crore Gross in its first weekend, making it a huge disaster.

However, the small-budget films released this month failed to impress. Movies such as KJQ, MS Raju’s Aagadha, ‘Aamir Log’, and Makutam (directed by Vishal) could not draw audiences to the theaters.

Nayanthara’s film ‘Hi’ was released in the final week; audiences were largely unaware of the movie’s existence, and its content also failed to make an impact.
