Allari Naresh’s upcoming fantasy comedy entertainer Ramba Oorvasi Menaka, directed by Chandra Mohan Chintada and produced by Razesh Danda and Nimmakayala Prasad under Annapurna Studios and Hasya Movies, is gearing up for its theatrical release. The teaser and trailer have already offered glimpses into its colourful fantasy world, comic situations and quirky characters.
Speaking ahead of the theatrical release, Allari Naresh revealed that one of the film’s major attractions is its reversal of the traditional socio-fantasy formula. “In most socio-fantasy films, humans travel to Indralok or Yamalok. Here, Ramba, Oorvasi and Menaka come down from heaven.”
For Naresh, the film marks a welcome return to pure comedy. “After a long time, I heard a really good comedy entertainer. The fun in the movie will be in my father EVV Satyanarayana’s style,” he said, adding that audiences have also been missing the kind of films associated with his earlier comedy outings such as Kithakithalu and Bendu Apparao.
Naresh described Chandra Mohan as a strong writer who developed the concept with great care. He also credited dialogue writer Nandu for penning entertaining lines.
One of the trailer’s biggest talking points has been its OG spoof. Naresh explained that the sequence is connected to his character’s obsession with becoming a hero. Since films are his character’s frame of reference, he naturally adopts cinematic expressions and dialogue. The reason behind the OG reference, he says, will become apparent within the film.
His promise for Ramba Oorvasi Menaka is straightforward- a clean entertainer where families can sit together, laugh freely and enjoy two-and-a-half hours without taking things too seriously.
Naresh, however, dismissed immediate plans to turn director, saying that his current priority is to focus on acting and deliver successful films.
