Dhanush To Return To His Mass Maari Zone?

Maari is one of the popular film franchises in South Indian cinema. Starring Dhanush in the lead role and directed by Balaji Mohan, the film’s first part was released in 2015, and the second part was released in 2018.

While the first part is a massive success, the second part did not become a hit. Now, almost 8 years after the second part’s release, there are plans to materialize the third part, titled Maari 3.

Interestingly, Dhanush who is going through a dull phase has decided to revive his glory by taking up a mass masala commercial actioner. The icing on the cake is that Dhanush has suggested a storyline to director Balaji Mohan and asked him to develop it further. The script is reportedly in progress and if everything goes well, the film will be materialised next year.

While the first part has Anirudh as the music director, the second part has Yuvan Shankar Raja. The first part’s audio and score is a big hit and people groove to the songs even today. Considering the same, the reports say that Anirudh will make a comeback to reunite with Dhanush and Balaji for the third part. The news is not officially confirmed but the scoop is bringing a rejoice to Dhanush’s fans.

Kajal Aggarwal played the female lead in the first part and Sai Pallavi was paired with Dhanush in the second one. Dhanush played a don in the film and it will be interesting to see if this third part gets materialised. Less likely do films get expanded into three parts and Maari will be absolutely special for Dhanush as it built a cult fan base to him. More details on the film are awaited.
