Sumanth Aims Comeback With Mahendragiri Varahi

Sumanth’s last film, Newton’s Third Law, impressed a section of the audience, but it didn’t receive a wholly positive response. But the actor seems to be confident about his next release, titled Mahendragiri Varahi. Directed by Santhossh Jagarlapudi, the film marks his reunion with Sumanth after Subrahmanyapuram. The pre-release buzz seems to be holding, and we have to see how it unfolds.

With the film scheduled for a grand release this coming Friday, trade expectations are decent. Director Santhossh can ace genres like mysterious thrillers with divine elements. The trailer looks good, and the film’s concept has sparked curiosity.

The film also features many noted faces, including Siddhu Jonnalagadda. His presence could also draw some crowds to theatres.

The film’s logline is that Siddharth, an atheist skeptical of the supernatural, investigates a series of mysterious deaths in Mahendragiri attributed to the goddess Vaaraahi. Sumanth is constantly finding new scripts with interesting premises. All he needs is a big box-office push so his game grows in revenue. The presence of Siddhu could help that this time, provided the film gets positive word of mouth.

Meenakshi Goswami, Aishwarya Rajesh, Malvika Nair, Manju Bhargavi, Brahmanandam, Rajeev Kanakala, Vennela Kishore, Vamsee Chaganti, Kamal Kamaraju, Srinivas Vadlamani & others are a part of the film’s cast. Produced by Madhu Kalipu and Laxman under the banners Rajashyamala Entertainments and Bridge Films, the film’s music is composed by Anup Rubens.
