Toxic featuring KGF star Yash in the lead role was in production for nearly 4 years and it happened to be one of the anticipated films of the year. Yash had a lot riding on this film as this happened to be his immediate next attempt after KGF 3.
But the film’s actual theatrical returns have been anything but promising, as it eventually turned out to be one of the biggest failures in the history of Indian cinema.
On top of this misery, the makers decided to make matters worse by releasing the English version of the film several days after the release of the original languages.
The English version released at the ticket counters last weekend, and it is posting abnormally low revenues. The first day collection was reported in the range of ₹1 lakh which is a bad number for a film of this scale.
There are Bollywood Media reports that the film could collect just ₹16,000 yesterday for english version. The film has struggled to reach ₹2 to ₹3 lakh revenue till now. These are extremely detrimental numbers for any film, let alone a one featuring a star like Yash.
It appears that releasing this English version several days after the failure of the original version was a royal mess failure decision made by the makers. They could have simply set aside this version rather than getting humiliated to such an extent in theatres.
