Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya are playing the leads in the upcoming film Epic. Directed by Aditya Hasan, the film will be released tomorrow and will premiere tonight. Interestingly, the director earlier revealed that the film is based on some real-life incidents that he encountered. At the same time, Aditya was taken aback by the response he received to the trailer. However, he is confident that the film will become a success.
The trailer makes it very clear that the director is very vocal about sensitive subjects like sex, intimacy, and post-sex conversations between a couple. These things are usually termed as bold, but the director did not hold back from voicing his opinion, as he intentionally tried to. That said, he did not want the audience to be shocked when they watched these scenes in the theatre, so he introduced them through the trailer, though he said the film will not revolve entirely around such topics.
In this scenario, Aditya agreed that he was prepared for the trailer to give a culture shock to a lot of audiences because of the bold and sensitive subjects discussed in it. Aditya said whatever he tried to present was inspired by his own life and other situations he witnessed. He clarified that only upto 20 percent of the film is what he underwent in life, and the rest is an amalgamation of experiences he had. This came as a surprise to audiences, who initially felt that the film was entirely based on his own love story. However, Aditya revealed that his personal story makes up only 20 percent of the film.
Aditya earlier made a 90s series, which brought him huge recognition among families. The director also proved himself to be a sensible filmmaker. But the trailer of Epic almost caught the eyeballs of family audiences, expressing their surprise over this shift in the director’s vision. But, Aditya is clear about sticking to what he wanted to tell honestly, hinting at his gut feeling that the audiences would the love the film, no matter what.
Already, the film is in the discussions of social media for various reasons but in few more hours, the fate of the movie will be out. Produced by S Naga Vamsi, the film has music by Hesham Abdul.
