Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara has yet to hit screens, and its release date remains unclear. However, As per new rumours, the film is planned for a Sankranthi release next year. But Chiranjeevi’s another film, Kaaka, is already scheduled for the same time.
Team Vishwambhara is adding pressure to shift Kaaka to a later date so their film can release for Sankranthi and, in turn, secure a good OTT deal.
The developments so far have been circulating on social media for the past couple of days. As of now, Chiranjeevi has yet to make a final decision. Kaaka team is adamant that Kaaka should release in theatres for Sankranthi, living upto the sentiment of Waltair Veerayya. Bobby is keen to taste another success with Chiranjeevi with this new film. Bobby is also working around the clock to meet deadlines and ensure Kaaka releases for Sankranthi.
Another opinion is that Vishwambhara has already been delayed, and there is no point in releasing it amid multiple other films this Sankranthi. Vishwambhara is a VFX-backed film, which is not a regular commercial film. The film should have a solo release, and it is the best way of taking the film forward.
On the flip side, if Vishwambhara gets pushed away from Sankranthi, the film will also face issues with the OTT deal.
That said, Chiranjeevi will now have the final say on which film gets released for Sankranthi. Both are important films for Chiru in many ways. But, Kaaka currently carries a strong buzz and also have positive expectations. Weighing the good and bad, Chiru will have to take the final decision and fix the release dates.
