Will The Paradise Match the Organic Glory of Irumudi in Nizam?

At a time when success was limited in Telugu cinema, and audiences were used to OTT entertainment, Ravi Teja’s Irumudi was a genuine hit. No false promotions or propaganda pushed crowds to theatres. The movie’s content clicked with viewers, who thronged theatres, making it a blockbuster.

The film scored more than 50 Cr rupees ( share ) at the box office in Nizam alone, a rare feat in recent times. Now, Nani has a target to cross it with his latest film, The Paradise. Producer Ravi, who bankrolled Irumudi, wished for the same, while Dil Raju also hoped it would happen.

Nizam is a major movie hub and a place to recover significant revenue. The area has witnessed several blockbusters over the years, with many actors setting new records. Irumudi is one film that proved all the myths wrong and went on to achieve steady success.

The Paradise also has a fair chance of achieving this feat, given the buzz and hype it is already enjoying. However, Irumudi’s success cannot be compared with The Paradise, even if it crosses the desired mark at the box office.

The Paradise is releasing with hiked ticket prices in the maximum possible screens, which was not the case with Irumudi. Ravi Teja starrer was released alongside other films with reasonable theatres. Later, the film’s run was threatened when many theatres were allocated to Toxic. The film was released with no ticket price hikes. The team did not boast about the success with unnecessary success-meets or collections posters, and everything that happened unfolded organically.

Now, for The Paradise, the situation could be different, considering the film’s budget and the hoopla around the film. The team may not be interested in chasing box-office numbers or boasting about them, but the fact that it is collecting 50 Cr rupees and crossing Irumudi is altogether different because the price tag plays a key role here.

Audiences will always look up to organic successes and also wish the same for The Paradise. As long as there are no comparisons or competition from other films, The Paradise’s success will be celebrated widely and will also inspire many young filmmakers and actors.

Directed by Srikanth Odela and starring Nani in the lead role, The Paradise will hit the screens on 24th of September.
