Pawan Basamsetti, who directed the entertainer Rangabali, is coming up with much bigger entertainment. Nagarjuna Reddy is producing the movie, along with director Pawan Basamsetti under the banners of Dream Movie Makers and Nayavayu Chitralu.
The glimpse opens with a light-hearted conversation. A Telugu character proudly enjoys biryani and a cool drink, while a Tamil character sits down with idli and sambar. Both passionately argue about whose food is better, until a third person puts an end to their debate by pointing towards an even more interesting combination.
That combination turns out to be Satya and Yogi Babu. The two actors arrive in traditional white outfits, following which the director gives them a rather unusual description of the film- a story involving love, crime and action. The proceedings eventually lead to the title reveal, Golden Bhagyam.
The glimpse cleverly plays with the linguistic identities of its protagonists. Satya, a Telugu actor, speaks Tamil, while Yogi Babu, one of Tamil cinema’s popular comedy stars, speaks Telugu. Their contrasting language dynamic is expected to become one of the film’s key sources of humour.
The makers have maintained the humorous tone even with the release announcement. After initially announcing a Sankranthi release, they later moved beyond the festival season and opted to simply mention that the film will arrive during the year.
This Telumil (mix of Telugu and Tamil) comic tonic features Jayashree and Athiraj as the female leads. Bablu Aju is handling the cinematography, while Pawan CH is composing the music.
