Young Actress Replaces Raashii In Blockbuster Series?

Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi was a solid hit on OTT, and now Farzi Season 2, directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., is getting ready to return with a new chapter. As per the latest Bollywood media reports, young actress Yukti Thareja has been roped in to play the female lead, and she confirmed the same to a news portal the other day.

Going into details, Raashii Khanna was the female lead in the first season, and in many of her interviews, Raashii stated that she would also start shooting for Season 2 soon. But now, with the arrival of Yukti Thareja, the tables have turned, and news has been going around that Raashii has been replaced.

Yukti Thareja will be paired with Shahid Kapoor, who returns as Sunny. Unlike the first season, the new season will focus heavily on Thareja’s character. Yukti plays a Gen-Z woman who is not afraid to question the system and has already wrapped up her shoot.

This is a massive project for Yukti, but whether Raashii has been replaced or her character will be brought back remains a huge suspense as of now.

While reports suggest that Raashii Khanna’s character will continue in Farzi Season 2, Yukti Thareja is said to be taking over the central female role. This indicates that the makers may have expanded the female lead’s importance rather than completely removing Raashii from the series. However, an official clarification is still awaited.

Yukti has previously appeared in Delhi Crime Season 3, Kiran Abbavaram’s K-Ramp, Emraan Hashmi’s hit song Lut Gaye, and the Malayalam hit Marco. Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi returns as officer Michael Vedanayagam and the new season will be out on Prime Video in the first half of 2027.
