Jason Sanjay could have easily chosen acting as his career. With his father Vijay’s massive popularity, strong industry backing, and his own hero-like appearance, acting could have been an easier choice. However, Jason decided to take the tougher route and make his debut as a director with Sigma.
His decision deserves appreciation because direction is not an easy job, especially when he comes from such a powerful film family. It shows that Jason has a genuine interest in filmmaking and wants to create an identity of his own rather than simply using his father’s stardom to enter acting.
However, Sigma also makes one thing clear. Passion alone cannot make a film connect with audiences. The Sundeep Kishan starrer has ended as a disappointment and shows a clear lack of experience in handling the story, emotions, and overall execution. Sigma had ideas, but the strong audience connection that is needed for a hit was missing.
Jason is still young and has plenty of time to learn from this experience. Being the son of a CM, opportunities are unlikely to stop coming his way. He will naturally have access to producers, actors, and technicians who can help him get another project.
But this is exactly why he needs to be more careful with his next move. Instead of rushing into another film, Jason should honestly reassess his strengths, understand the mistakes in Sigma, and spend more time developing his craft.
