The makers of Ramayana have found themselves in tension for reasons beyond the film. As per the updates, the Income Tax Department conducted searches at the Mumbai offices of Prime Focus, the company headed by producer Namit Malhotra.
According to reports, the authorities are investigating certain foreign financial transactions in the company. On the other hand, the news had an immediate impact on Prime Focus, with the company’s shares falling by around 8 percent.
There is news that Ramayana has been funded through various foreign companies and hundreds of crores have been sent to India to make this film. The makers are spending some unheard amounts to promote this film ever since it was launched.
The timing of the raids has grabbed attention because Ramayana is one of the biggest Indian films in production. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, and several other well-known actors.
As of now, neither the Income Tax Department nor Prime Focus has shared detailed comments regarding the ongoing investigation. With the searches still making headlines, industry circles are closely watching how the developments unfold in the coming days.
