Egilivaranga From Bhogi: The Soil & The Spirit

The rustic charm of the 1960s comes alive in Egilivaranga, the first single unveiled from Charming Star Sharwa’s upcoming film Bhogi. The song captures the soil, spirit, cultural identity, and social fabric of the era, offering a compelling glimpse into the world envisioned by director Sampath Nandi.

The song explores the realities of a rural community shaped by age-old customs, caste-based professions, traditional practices, and the dominance of local feudal lords. Chandra Bose, the Oscar-winning lyricist, captures this environment through the natural Telangana dialect, keeping the words close to the lived experiences of the people.

The composition by Bheems Ceciroleo is equally rooted in the region’s musical character. Its tempo and intensity steadily rise, giving the number a lively progression that holds the listener’s attention. Nalgonda Gaddar Narsanna delivers the song with commanding energy, supported by Narsireddy, Kandukuri Shankar Babu, and Relare Gopal.

Visually, Egilivaranga reflects the same commitment to period authenticity. The village setting, its surroundings, and the portrayal of everyday life help establish the atmosphere of the bygone era. Sharwa and Anupama Parameswaran appear convincing in their rural get-ups.

Bhogi marks an ambitious collaboration between Sharwa and Sampath Nandi, with the director seeking to bring a distinct regional history and its social dynamics to the big screen. The film is produced by KK Radhamohan under Sri Sathya Sai Arts.
