Actress Opens Up On Casting Couch In Telugu

Oftentimes, we see a lot of actors sharing their experiences of the casting couch and sexual harassment in the South Indian film industry. Now, the latest to join the list is actress Niti Taylor, who has done couple of movies in the South, particularly in Telugu. The actress shared that the director she worked with reportedly asked her to sleep with him.

In a recent interview, the actress shared that she worked on only two films in the South Indian film industry. After completing her first film, the same director reportedly approached her for another project. However, Niti Taylor revealed that the director made an inappropriate proposition, demanding a physical relationship as a prerequisite for casting her in the second film.

Having hearing that from the director, the actress reportedly was shocked and then she explained that it was deeply distressing to face such a situation when she had hoped to earn roles based purely on her talent. Niti Taylor reportedly said that, caught off guard by the incident, she didn’t know what to do for a moment. Instead of arguing with him, the actress blocked his phone number.

Recalling the aftermath, she said she broke down in tears while telling her mother about the incident. Niti Taylor added that stepping into the industry with a passion for films, only to face such an incident, left a profound impact on her. The actress debuted with Tanish’s Mem Vayasuku Vachham in 2012. Later, she was seen in Rahul Ravindran’s Pelli Pustakam and Love Dot Com.
