Ranabaali, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, is among the much-anticipated pan-India releases of the festive season. With its trailer and promotional material building curiosity around its historical setting, the film received another major boost at its grand pre-release event in Hyderabad, where Vijay spoke confidently about the project and the team behind it.
Vijay Deverakonda and his energetic speeches need no introduction. VD is known for his bold, aggressive and hard-hitting speeches. He is also known for his over-confident speeches. Some have worked, some have backfired. Vijay is now back with such a confident speech.
Vijay’s speech made it clear that his confidence in Ranabaali comes from the story’s foundation and the director’s vision. He described how Rahul explored rural traditions, folk narratives, jatara celebrations and stories of local heroes before shaping the film. During the process, the director uncovered lesser-known historical chapters that gave the project a larger purpose. Vijay felt that the combination of a compelling period setting and a meaningful subject made the film particularly exciting.
Praising Rahul’s approach to filmmaking, Vijay said that the director does not make films simply to keep his career moving forward; instead, he sets out to tell great stories. He also credited Mythri Movie Makers for playing a key role in taking Telugu cinema to a global audience, noting that the production house brings stories to the screen on a grand scale when it believes in the content. His words highlighted the collective effort behind Ranabaali and the confidence the team has placed in its vision.
Vijay said, “I had written a letter earlier about my comeback. When many were enjoying it, I said I will be back. When I said I will be back, be bloody sure I will be back.” Vijay also played his old speech during Taxiwaala where Vijay said exactly those words. Vijay had proved that he would be back if he said so.
Vijay’s confidence extended to the film’s casting and music as well. He spoke proudly about Rashmika’s growth and dedication, emphasising that she was the right person to bring the female lead to life and create the intended impact alongside him. He also recalled the memorable “Endhayya Saami” song by Ajay–Atul.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the period action film is presented by T-Series and produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. With the film scheduled to release worldwide on October 16, Vijay invited audiences to experience Ranabaali in theatres and promised a epic cinematic experience.
