Ranabaali is best in filmography: Vijay Deverakonda

Vijay Deverakonda’s latest film “Ranabaali” released worldwide today, bringing together the actor and director Rahul Sankrityan for an ambitious pan-India period drama. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead, while Arnold Vosloo appears in a pivotal role. Presented by Gulshan Kumar, Bhushan Kumar and T-Series Films, the film has been produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner.

At a press meet in Hyderabad, Vijay spoke about the film’s purpose, its place in his career and his plans to connect with audiences. Vijay emphasised that the film was driven by the importance of its story rather than the pursuit of commercial milestones. “When we were making it, our primary intention was not simply to score a big hit or create huge box-office numbers. We felt it was important to bring this story to our people,” he said.

He also expressed confidence that the film’s different layers would become clearer to audiences as they experienced the complete narrative on the big screen. Reflecting on the film’s significance, Vijay said, “‘Ranabaali’ will remain an important film in my filmography and in the history of Telugu cinema.” He revealed that he was preparing to meet audiences in Vijayawada, Anantapur, Singanamala, Guntur, Visakhapatnam and other locations.

The actor also shared an update about his next project, saying, “I am doing a cute romantic comedy with director Vikram K Kumar. I could take it up because he brought me such a script. I am currently choosing and doing every film with genuine interest.” Vijay also noted the growing interest in taking “Ranabaali” beyond Telugu-speaking audiences, confirming plans for Hindi and Tamil releases while reiterating that Telugu audiences remained the team’s primary focus.
