Yash Defends Ramayana VFX, Urges Unity in Indian Cinema

Yash has responded to the criticism surrounding the visual effects of Ramayana. Speaking at the film’s Telugu pre release event in Hyderabad, the actor asked audiences not to focus on small faults and urged them to watch the film with an open mind.

“Please don’t try to find small faults, like VFX in Ramayana. If we lose people like Namit Malhotra, it will take us backwards by years,” Yash said, stressing the importance of supporting people who are trying to make Indian cinema bigger.

The film faced criticism after its first glimpse and trailer were released. Several viewers questioned the quality of the visual effects, especially considering the huge budget and the expectations surrounding the mythological epic.

However, the recently released international trailer on October 15 received a decent response. While some viewers appreciated the grand visuals and Yash’s portrayal of Ravana, others continued to point out issues with certain VFX shots.

Yash has now asked fans across industries to come together instead of focusing on minor flaws. He believes that supporting ambitious projects like Ramayana is important if Indian cinema wants to make a bigger impact on the global stage.

Namit Malhotra, who is producing the film, has been backing the project on a massive scale. Yash’s remarks underline the need to encourage such efforts rather than discourage filmmakers over individual shortcomings.

Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The first part is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 5, 2026.
