Sushant’s Drugs Case: NCB Arrests Assistant Director

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday arrested former assistant director and Sushant’s friend Rishikesh Pawar in connection with late Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The cops confirmed that Pawar was absconding from the last 30 days and the Mumbai sessions court last month rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Rishikesh Pawar in the drugs case, probed by the NCB.

Since then, NCB officials had been searching for Rishikesh Pawar. The man was earlier questioned by the NCB in September 2020, along with others associated with the late actor. It is believed that Pawar played a major role in supplying drugs to late Sushant Singh Rajput just a month before the latter died.

Sushant’s staff member, Sawant, also vouched for Pawar’s illegal procuring of drugs and supplying to the late actor. The whole thing started when Sawant said in his statement that before he started working for Sushant, it was Pawar who delivered drugs to the late actor. And, Pawar had immediately approached the Mumbai sessions court and the Bombay High court, seeking anticipatory bail in the NCB case. But, the application got rejected last month.

Later, NCB officials visited his Chembur residence only to find him absconding. Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of NCB, said that “Rishikesh Pawar is an Assistant Director of Sushant Singh Rajput’s dream project. Various pieces of evidence clearly reveal the role played by the Rishikesh Pawar in supplying drugs to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput for a monetary consideration”. Rishikesh will now be produced in the court today.
