Weekend Watch: Naandhi In Theatres; Drishyam 2 on OTT

Tollywood is also getting used to the new normal situation at the box office. All the theatres got reopened with 100% occupancy and most of the filmmakers have finally releasing their movies in the theatres. The situation is slowly getting normal as at least 2-3 movies are getting released in a week.

This Friday 3 movies got released which are ‘Kapatadhaari’, ‘Naandhi’ and ‘Chakra’. Also ‘Pitta Kathalu’ movie started streaming on Netflix and ‘Drishyam 2’ on Amazon Prime.

Coming to the theatrical releases, Allari Naresh starrer ‘Naandhi’ movie which came out with a completely different concept has been receiving a decent response from the audience. Though some of the fans have been claiming that the movie is bit disappointing, some are claiming that the movie is really worth watching because of Allari Naresh’s mesmerizing performance. On the other side Uppena running successfully at box office.

On the other hand, ‘Kapatadhaari’ movie starring Sumanth which came out as the official Telugu remake of Kannada super hit film ‘Kavaludaari’ failed to live up to the expectations. The movie lovers are saying that the movie has failed to give the same feel as the original version.

‘Chakra’ starring Vishal is a cyber-thriller movie but has failed to impress the audience. Most of the audience are claiming that the movie is not even close to his previous hit film ‘Abhimanyudu’.

Coming to the digital releases, ‘Pitta Kathalu’ movie is an anthology featuring four stories. Interestingly, the first three stories felt very similar. ‘Raamula’ story received a good response from the audience. ‘Meera’ and ‘X life’ got average response whereas ‘Pinky’ failed to impress.

‘Drishyam 2’ which came out as the sequel of superhit film ‘Drishyam’ is streaming on Amazon Prime. Though the movie got released in Malayalam, the film has been receiving good response from the audience. Mohanlal is back as Georgekutty, to unveil the mystery of Drishyam.
