Rajinikanth Dedicates Dada Saheb Phalke Award To His Friend

Money, fame and status are a few of the last things Superstar Rajinikanth thinks about. His modesty and minimalist life add extra points to his popularity levels. Once again, the superstar left everyone awe-struck with his humbling gesture as he dedicated the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award to all those who helped and supported him during his struggling days.

“I dedicate this award to my friend and bus driver Raj Bahadur, who was one of the first persons to discover my acting talent and encouraged me, my elder brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaekwad, who sacrificed a lot for me while struggling with poverty, my guru K Balachander, who created this Rajinikanth,” the actor stated.

As we know, today, the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar announced that the prestigious 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award will be honoured to the superstar. And, it is indeed a huge achievement as Rajinikanth will be the third person to be honoured with the award after Sivaji Ganesan and late director Balachander from Tamil Film industry.

Taling about the whole South, Rajinikanth is the 12th South Indian to get this award. Iconic personalities like Dr Rajkumar and Akkineni Nageshwar Rao have been awarded before. Rajinikanth also tweeted – “My heartfelt thanks to the government of India, respected & dearest @narendramodi ji, @PrakashJavdekar ji and the jury for conferring upon me the prestigious #DadasahebPhalkeAward. I sincerely dedicate it to all those who have been a part of my journey. Thanks to the almighty”.
