Andhra Pradesh and Telangana politics are extremely masculine in nature and the fact that both the Telugu states have only seen male chief minister is an indication of the same. Not many female politicians have been able to reach the top position till now.
YS Sharmila took a shot at this when she joined the Congress party and fought their campaign in the recent election. But she ended up with a very bad result as she herself ended up losing from the Kadapa Parliament seat.
Now the discussion is about Kalvakuntla Kavitha, who is the daughter of KCR and is currently on the journey of finding her own political path in Telangana.
While taking part in a TV interview, Kavita was asked about the comparison with Sharmila as she was asked if she is on a similar career trajectory. Interestingly, Kavita had a very sarcastic and belittling reaction to this.
“Are you joking with me? Why would I like to be compared to Sharmila? I want to follow a success model that actually works. Why would I go after a failure case, which would only be encourage me(referring to Sharmila)?” Kavitha said.
TRS chief further pointed out that she would instead take success, models of her father, KCR and former AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy as her positive role models.
It is evident that Kavita has very little regard for Sharmila and does not relate with her at any level. In fact, she is taking more inspiration from YS Jagan as she spoke, highly about his success ratio in politics. In fact, she related to this, by saying, Jagan had also started as an MP and she has also witnessed the same path.
