Pawan Kalyan’s Strong Warning To Andhra Paper Mills

Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has once again taken serious note of the alleged pollution caused by Andhra Paper Mills near Rajamahendravaram. He said nearly half of the liquid waste entering the Godavari is linked to the paper mill.

The issue is not new. During his earlier inspection of the Godavari, Pawan had expressed concern over industrial waste entering the river and directed officials to act against the polluting units.

Now, Pawan has questioned the management over its alleged tax dues as well. He said the company has not paid local body taxes for nearly 12 years and has been approaching courts whenever notices were issued.

The Deputy CM said the government had already given the company an opportunity to correct the violations. Notices were issued and three months were reportedly given to take corrective measures.

However, Pawan said there was no satisfactory response from the management despite repeated meetings with officials. He made it clear that the government would no longer show any leniency.

Pawan has directed officials to issue summons and initiate action according to the rules. With the Godavari Pushkaralu approaching in 2027, the government appears determined to tighten its focus on pollution and protect the river.
