Fauzi Glimpse: India’s Biggest REBEL Soldier

An unknown Indian soldier, an intelligence network that the British cannot penetrate, and a secret code that challenges Germany’s greatest cryptographic achievement form the intriguing foundation of Fauzi. Featuring Rebel Star Prabhas, the period action drama has taken a compelling step forward with the release of File No 25, a glimpse that finally reveals the identity of its enigmatic protagonist.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film introduces the protagonist through a tense conversation between two towering historical figures. Dated May 29, 1942, the sequence unfolds in Berlin, where Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose meets Adolf Hitler to seek Germany’s support in the fight against British rule in India.

The conversation becomes more compelling when Bose explains that military victories are not determined by dreams alone. Intelligence, strategy and the ability to outthink an adversary can change the course of a war. To prove his point, he refers to a mysterious Indian operative whose actions have disrupted British military operations, diverted troops and exposed vulnerabilities in their intelligence system.

Bose’s description elevates the unknown man into something far more formidable than an ordinary soldier. He is a strategist capable of operating behind enemy lines and a spy whose identity remains a closely guarded secret. His greatest weapon, however, is a supposedly unbreakable code derived from the Bhagavad Gita, one that even the British reportedly find more difficult to crack than the German Enigma.

The revelation leaves Hitler curious about the man. Bose identifies him only by the name the British have given him- Fauzi, and explains that the operative is currently in Calcutta, safeguarding his homeland. With the declaration that he has been Britain’s most wanted man since 1932, the glimpse establishes the character’s extraordinary reputation.

Prabhas then makes a powerful entry as a rebel soldier. With a cigarette in his mouth and a massive firearm aimed at his enemies, he embodies the image of a ruthless fighter who refuses to bow to colonial rule. His aggressive challenge to the British brings the glimpse to a powerful end.

Rather than relying solely on the scale of its action, File No 25 builds curiosity around the intelligence, identity and ideology of its protagonist. The glimpse positions Fauzi as a distinctive period action drama, with Prabhas’ imposing screen presence adding considerable force to Hanu Raghavapudi’s ambitious vision.

The glimpse also announces the film’s release date. Fauzi is set for a pan – India release on March 19, including in Bengali.
