Crime comedies are a rarity in Telugu cinema since the beginning. Even though there are only a few authentic crime-comedies in Tollywood, all of them have been received well by the audiences. One of those films is Swamy Rara, directed by Sudheer Varma. Starring Nikhil Siddhartha and Swati Reddy in the lead roles, this film was a surprise hit at the box office.
Swamy Rara celebrated eight years of its release the other day. On this occasion, hero Nikhil shared a post about the film and tweeted, “8 years since #SwamyRara Released. Will we get back for another instalment @sudheerkvarma??” Replying to him, Sudheer wrote, “Ya… bigger con loading/downloading.”
With this statement, Sudheer Varma indirectly confirmed the plans of making a sequel to Swamy Rara. We may expect more details about this project very soon.
As of now, Nikhil is busy with two projects. One is 18 Pages, which is being produced by GA2 Pictures. The other film is Karthikeya 2, directed by Chandoo Mondeti. On the flip side, Sudheer Varma is gearing up to direct a Telugu remake of a Korean film with Regina and Nivetha Thomas.
As soon as the actor-director duo wrap up their ongoing commitments, we may expect the sequel of Swamy Rara hitting the floors.
